LifeCycle Swim School Certification

Video Submission

Congratulations!

You've been invited to the next step of the Cohort 1 review process.

Based on your written application we'd like to learn more about you through two short video submissions.

We appreciate the time and care you put into this step.

Submitting the videos does not guarantee acceptance into Cohort 1.

What to Submit

Video 1: Personal Introduction (1-2 minutes)

This video helps us understand who you are and how you communicate. Items you could include:

  • Your background in swimming, aquatics, instruction, or just loving water

  • Why you're interested in obtaining a LifeCycle Swim School Certification

  • What draws you to teaching swimming

  • Describe your teaching style (or potential teaching style), or philosophy

Video 2: In-water Skills Demonstration

We want to see your swimming skills. You'll have to recruit someone to take the video.

  • Demonstrate as many strokes as you know how to do (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, elementary backstroke, sidestroke). Swim about 15 yards each of any stroke you're demonstrating

  • Any formal water entry skills you know (diving, pencil jump)

  • Any additional racing skills you know (flip turns, open turns, underwater dolphin kicks)

    Notes:

    > Any type of pool is fine

    > We're looking for water comfort, competence and form, not elite times. No need to race.

    > If accepted into the program, your training includes stroke refinement, if necessary

Recording Guidelines: Record video on phone or tablet; ensure clear visibility and sound
